My Purpose
When I see beautifully constructed beadwork, it reminds me of the beauty I hear in a choir, or see in a field of tulips in bloom. It is greater than the sum of its parts. There is a vast satisfaction in beginning with a pile of beads, a few needles and a length of thread, and ending with an intricate finished piece. For my work with resin, I seek to take elements from the natural world and found objects, and transform them into functional pieces of art for one to wear and enjoy. A bouquet purchased at the farmer’s market can turn into many pieces of jewelry, which can be cherished for years to come. In either case, my work seeks to dazzle and fascinate the viewer. I seek to honor the beauty that exists in the materials I use by creating wearable art. I would like to draw the audience in so they become lost in the intricacies of the piece. I live to add beauty to the world.
